      Hello,

      Why does the radar sometimes show a signal even though there is absolutely zero precipitation evident outside?

        15dBZ equals (aprox.) 0.01 inches of rain per hour ... almost nothing!

        Finally ... wx radars may interfere with sea, dust, swarms of insects !!! , virga (rain that evaporates before it hits the ground) etc

          @Gkikas-LGPZ Very helpful, thank you! I did not discern anything outside but perhaps the mist did not quite make it to ground level as in a case of virga.
