            @Gkikas-LGPZ The 2 m temperature anomaly specifically would be a very cool set of data to have visible in the app…

              I like the idea of having anomaly data included one day as well.
              I see Moisture Anomaly is already a layer...air temperature would be great, sea temperature, precipitation, snow depth...etc etc :D

                  @Korina Hello, I do see those other layers. What I'm suggesting is to create new layers with comparisons to normal.
                  This location has more snow than normal.
                  Sea Surface Temperature here is 5C above normal.

                  Although I'm interested in seeing the likelihood of an extreme amount of precipitation in a location....I also want to see, this location received 30% more precipitation this month. Or this location is expected to receive -20% precipitation in March, April, May type of thing. Deviations from normal can be very beneficial when planning for the future outlook of an area. (like attempting to anticipate a busy spring fire season for example)

                  I hope that makes sense. Just giving some ideas for growth of this wonderful product.
                  If I am reading the layers incorrectly or missing something please let me know :)

                    Windy is a weather app, providing meteorological data visualisation. In your last post you want Windy to add climatological data to allow multi analyses comparing weeks, months, years… Meteorology and climatology are 2 different fields concerning the knowledge of the atmosphere. There are very few weather app including also climatic data and it would require a big task for Windy development.

                    As said by @Gkikas-LGPZ the Extreme forecast layers show the anomaly of Temperature, Rain and Wind. Nevertheless the anomaly is expressed in % instead of values (units).
                    These layers are based on EFI (Extreme Forecast Index) from ECMWF which provides the following information:

                    “The EFI provides specialised forecast guidance for severe weather events, such as heavy precipitation, strong winds, heavy snowfall, extreme temperatures, and, for the marine community, for unusually high ocean waves. The EFI varies from -1 to 1 (from 100% and -100% in Windy) and measures the difference between the ENS (ensemble model) and model climate (M-climate) distributions. The latter are derived from a set of re-forecasts that comprises ensemble forecasts based on data going back 20 years.”

                    Note these layers do not show only extreme % but also mean % as in this screenshot (16%):

                    So if, instead of a uniform grey color between 40% and -40%, you change it with a color gradient it will look like an anomaly map but in %.
                    In Settings -> Customize color scale.

                      @idefix37 It was a humble suggestion on a path to grow towards. Windy team have their own ideals and thoughts for the future and I completely understand that. Maybe this is another way to separate itself further from other weather apps...or maybe adding some climatological data would just muddy the waters.

                      Either way, much appreciate the information. Especially that bit explaining the EFI, I'm not sure where you found that.
