Mobile app obtrusive gray rectangles
-
When selecting "gfs" forecast model in the mobile app and viewing swell data, there will be gray rectangles across the map blocking some data. Upon zooming into the squares near a coast, they vanish, revealing the weather data underneath. However, they reappear when zooming back out. Graphic compatibility mode does not fix the issue.

Hi @Eli-ElijaRock unfortunately, this is imperfection, or resolution issue with GFS data in certain layers. They don't have data fot these locations.

@Ondřej-Šutera If there is no data for these locations, then how come zooming in reveals weather data under these rectangles. And the rectangles are always in different places each time using the app.

Wave models provide data as a grid, that very roughly matches with the shoreline. Windy hides the data that is on the land by the base map. And depending on the resolution of the model (GFS has a low resolution), the interpolation of the grid points, the zoom level, you get these small glitches, which disappear when you zoom in. If you want to know the forecasts of the sea state near the shore, so zoom in.
This picture from a wave model may help you understand what I mean along the sea shore. In addition there are areas where swell is missing with GFS-wave model.
