      Re: Swell2 arrow indicator & wind

      I’m new to sailing and the Windy app. Can someone help explain the difference between swell and swell to indicator?

          @idefix37 - Perfect, thanks!!

          One other question. Trying to find some guidelines/education to know when wave height, period, etc. go from good sailing to uncomfortable to unsafe? On a 42' Lagoon Catermaran.

            I would recommend this article
            https://bluewatermiles.com/extras/waves/
            However, it refers to single hull boats. I have no experience with catamarans, just knowing that they have different behavior and limits at sea.
            With all types of boats, cross seas (wind seas opposite or at 90° to the swell, same for main swell and cross secondary swell if they have almost similar heights and especially wind/waves opposing the current/tidal current) makes them uncomfortable or even unsafe if conditions become tougher.
            Windy provides all these parameters allowing you to analyze the conditions of your future navigations.
