I’m sailing in the surroundings of the Greek Ionion Islands. The last days ( 12 and 13 of april 2023) I sailed between The cities Lefkada and Preveza.
These screenshots were made within 12 houres! The data were a bit ajusted just before. But nevertheless….. When I sailed there the 12th, I experienced 30-35 knots! And no, that were not the gusts, that was contantly the wind. The next day still around 28-30 knots.
Compare it with the data on the screenshots! The data were totaly false! And this is’t the first time! This way there is no point in planning a trip with the Windy site!

I live in the area and, although yesterday (Apr 12) was a windy day, I didn't face those gale force winds you mentioned.
Yes, it was a NW general flow which, combined with the "usual" west wind breeze, gave aprox. 25 kts during the afternoon.

For today (Apr 13) we have southerlies in the area.
South wind is funelling between Lefkas island and mainland, so if you sail in Lefkas strait (east of Lefkas isl.)
you may experience wind with the same speed (aprox. 25 kts).

Your wind observations are weird because on the 12th the weather station at the nearby airport showed wind speeds very similar to those predicted by the ECMWF model.
Of course this station is on land, not at sea. May be there is some local breeze which could explain this big discrepancy.
Hope @Gkikas-LGPZ can give a better explanation.

Next time instead of Reported temperature, show Reported wind.
The feature Observation vs Forecast allows to compare the model forecast and the reported wind as shown here above, over the previous 8 days.
