      Hi,

I would like to suggest adding the operational wave forecast WW3_4km developed by the Norwegian Meteorological Institute (MET Norway) at Windy.

MET Norway recently released its new open-access wave forecast based on the third-generation spectral wave model WaveWatchIII. Some advantages of WW3_4km model:

      • uses advanced physics for wind input and dissipation (ST4; Ardhuin et al., 2010)
      • considers complex phenomena such as wave-ice interactions, which are essential in the Arctic regions.
      • has a high spatial resolution grid (4 km)
      • its domain covers a big part of the Northeast Atlantic, including the Nordic Seas (see figure below)
      • 4 x daily prognosis with hourly output fields
      • forecast length of 66 hours
      • freely available at https://thredds.met.no/thredds/fou-hi/ww3_4km.html

Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

      Best regards,
      Konstantinos Christakos
Researcher at MET Norway & NTNU, Norway

@Konstantinos-Christakos thank you for providing info about this Wave model. We will definitely consider this option when the layer gets any update in the future.

@Ondřej-Šutera Is there any update about including this high-resolution wave forecast in Windy?

@Konstantinos-Christakos Unfortunately, it isn't, since we have worked especially on the new interface for all platforms.

@Konstantinos-Christakos Hello @Ondřej-Šutera , do you think that there is still a chance including this forecast product on Windy?

@Konstantinos-Christakos There is always a chance in future, but it is not planned now.

@Suty New year and maybe new possibilities for including the Norwegian wave model?
