      Hi
      I've been hoping that the weather radar over the Valencian region of Spain would be functional again by now, as it's been displaying "no data" for around a week, but it's still offline.
      I think it's something to do with your provider? Would it be possible to chase this up?

      Many Thanks,
      em :)

        @emmdragon
        When there is “no data” displayed in Windy radar, first check that the provider does not have a problem himself.

          @idefix37 ah! so it's Aemet that's the provider for this region, that makes sense, seems obvious now, thank you! :)
          Ok, I've just visited their website and found this result for the regional radar for Valencia which displays "Radar en sustitción" over the whole area .... The radar is being replaced or substituted? Screenshot 2023-05-07 at 15.12.55.png

          My original question was is there a way that you can contact the provider to chase this up? .... Perhaps now knowing who the provider is, perhaps I could also give that a try!

          Thank you for your help!
          em :)

              @idefix37 yes, obvious at it sounds I never made the connection between your providers at Windy for live radar and satellite and the national weather services for each country ... I could see the national weather services displayed as I zoomed in and out of a country but hadn't realised that they also provided the live data! :D ...
              ok! so I've found a note at the bottom of the page of the Aemet website about radar outages which might occur across Spain. It explains what's happening here and it might help to explain to anyone else who may have a similar question as to why the weather radar displays "No Data" over regions of Spain for an extended period of time :

              Nota:
              AEMET está procediendo a la ampliación, renovación y modernización de su red de radares dentro del Plan de Recuperación, Transformación y Resiliencia del Gobierno de España financiado con los fondos aprobados por el Consejo Europeo del 21 de julio de 2020, para hacer frente a las consecuencias de la pandemia internacional provocada por la COVID-19. La instalación de los nuevos equipos va precedida del acondicionamiento de las actuales infraestructuras. Durante la ejecución de cada acondicionamiento se prevé un periodo de desconexión del equipo radar para evitar posibles daños y permitir el acondicionamiento. La ausencia de datos del radar desconectado tiene impacto en la información usada para la prestación de servicios de AEMET, las consecuencias son similares a los apagados durante los mantenimientos preventivos o correctivos pero de mayor duración. Esta ausencia de datos de un radar desconectado se cubre con los radares operativos contiguos excepto pequeñas zonas que tendrá una falta de cobertura de radares contiguos. En las zonas de posible falta de cobertura está disponible la información satelital y la red de detección de descargas para las tareas de vigilancia meteorológica.

              Rough translation :

              Note:
              AEMET is proceeding with the expansion, renewal and modernization of its radar network within the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan of the Government of Spain financed with the funds approved by the European Council on July 21, 2020, to deal with the consequences of the international pandemic caused by COVID-19. The installation of the new equipment is preceded by the conditioning of the current infrastructures. During the execution of each conditioning, a period of disconnection of the radar equipment is foreseen to avoid possible damages and allow conditioning. The absence of data from the disconnected radar has an impact on the information used for the provision of AEMET services, the consequences are similar to shutdowns during preventive or corrective maintenance but of longer duration. This absence of data from a disconnected radar is covered by the contiguous operational radars, except for small areas that will have a lack of coverage of contiguous radars. In areas of possible lack of coverage, satellite information and the discharge detection network are available for meteorological surveillance tasks.
