Layer legends

Why don’t all layers have some kind of legend so that one can interpret graphic info?

Each layer has a legend.
On website click the small circled i in bottom right corner of screen.
In the mobile app menu, click About this data

Tried “about this data” on Waves layer using app. Box appears explains info about waves but still no legend to calibrate height, frequency of waves. I’ll try on web site.

The calibration is shown in the color scale with each layer. For instance this scale displays the significant height in m or in ft.
