Rain set to inches, still shows millimeters

I saw several other bug reports about this on a Google search, but the response was similar in every case, either something like "Strange", "we can't do anything unless you can tell us more", "check the settings", or some variant thereof.
So, I'll try myself;
I have rain set to inches in the settings, yet it still shows in millimeters. I've had this issue for, well, years now, but as I went ahead and paid for premium several months ago, I decided it was finally an irritant enough to try to "fix" it, but no luck with changing settings back to mm then back to in or with any searches for other people with problem (as mentioned above).

On Radar layer, you can change the units on the color scale.
So there is no bug !
You can use this feature for other units too.

@idefix37 ed: I (believe) I understand what you're saying, re; the models and such show the measurements in inches, not mm. I changed it as you suggested and it did save this setting (didn't test to see if it's saved to my actual account or just a cookie -- hopefully the former).
I still think it's not unreasonable to suggest that it's a bug (or call it an oversight) that this is independent of the user settings. Not sure why someone would want their model forecasts in imperial units and have the radar map display metric units.
