      I search for this in previous post but found ones from a few years ago I was wondering if it was updated. Can someone please tell me how to determine what height the wind gusts are coming in at. Specifically for kiting a paraglider, so I need to make sure the gusts are not too much on surface level

      Thanks!

        @firefalling

        Like reported wind and wind forecast, wind gusts are computed at 10 meters high.

          @idefix37 is it 10m above terrain (aka height of the location) or AMSL?

          I assume when using slider for wind layer at height it is AMSL, right?

            @ondrejspilka723
            The 10 meters are above ground (or above the sea level if offshore).
            In weather stations the anemometer is placed at top of a 10m mast. And weather models compute wind at same height above ground. It is called the surface wind.
            The Altitude slider gives the elevation as pressure levels.
