Altitude slider

Hi There,
Does the altitude slider on the right side of the windy page show altitude from MSL (Mean seal level)?
If yes, Then the data shown at a particular location is based on MSL or from its particular location's surface.For example, Under temperature when I drag up the slider to some altitude (say, 2000m / 6400ft) will the temperature around the Himalayas be based on MSL or from its particular top surface?
The reason I have this question was, the peaks around the Himalayas are 2000m+ in height. What temperature is shown when I place the slider at ~2000m?

Altitude slider is amsl.
Even in mountains, to get temperature at a location, just leave the slider at Surface. But note that global weather models are not so accurate in your area due to their medium resolution and to their coarse orography model.

I've just checked in the Alps and Himalayas - Windy DOES NOT take into account terrain so in the mountains you have to use the slider. When you leave the slider on the ground, it shows 1 km/h winds on 7000 meter mountains. -
It is not Windy that does not take into account the real altitude, IT IS THE MODEL, as said above.
In the mountains you have to use a high resolution model (if available). And even better look at METEOBLUE in the point forecast table, this model is very good in the mountains especially for the temperature.
If you change the altitude with the Altitude slider, you set all the parameters "in free atmosphere", not near the ground, and you then get erroneous data.
You are not a Premium user, so you can use the Observation vs forecast feature. It compares the data from weather stations and models.
I take here the example of the Jungfraujoch weather station in Switzerland at 3500 m. METEOBLUE is the best for temperature and wind.
