Wind has been howling but windy shows 15mph green

I'm on a sailboat on the intercoastal Cortez Florida near Tampa Bay. The wind has been howling since 2 am last night but Windy just shows a nice 15 mph. Why?

Hi @Kurt-Guenther, we don't make any our own forecast. We take data from sources like ECMWF, GFS, ... and their data, like any other meteorological forecasts, can differ sometimes, especially in local conditions. Did you try all available forecast models for your location?

In Tampa bay, for instance, HRRR model was forecasting 13 knots and this weather station reported 14 knots.
