For me EMWF, Icon d2 and Arome work fine

@Korina In Québec, Canada I use ECMWF which seems to be the more accurate. The "Compare Forecasts" feature helps me to have a broader view.

              Hello

I take into account the area in the choice of favorite or « must subject to be near to reality » model.
              In France, I choose arome.
              In Uk, UKV
When I sail across the channel, I’m between those 2 :-)
In Germany or north see : Icon
Near North America, in the carabean island, I look at GFS.

but I all cases, i compare the different results with the reality to assess and change my strategy, using wind direction and strength, and the barometer.

              Philippe

I find ECMWF more accurate than the popular Meteo Media, here in Quebec, Canada. ECMWF is my preferred forcast model.

@Korina in recent years, we trust ECMWF the most to predict offshore winds, translated to sea states along the southeast United States.

@Korina as a professional sailor I use the windy premium app all around the world. So I find each model better suited to specific locations, but primarily ECMWF and GFS. The compare function gives us the best chance to aggregate the models when sailing. The ability to plot our course when deep sea, and view the live hurricane tracker are amazing features as well.

@Korina I prefer using the ECMWF. Here in Puerto Rico we are always in alert when the hurricane season begins, since Puerto Rico is located in a point where storms and hurricanes usually pass nearby. I think the ECMWF has been more assertive in the prediction and tracking of this systems than the rest of the models.

In Mallorca Spain I use Arome for the excellent reliability and to cross reference with GFS.

I rely mostly on the ECMWF, but now will look more closely at the HRRR and NAM for the the US west coast.

@Korina my wife and I have learned to trust and sail by the ECMWF Model as we live and travel aboard our Sailing Catamaran along the East Coast of the US & Canada, along with the Bahamas. We've discovered the hard way, that the Gust Forecast is often the sustained conditions that we find offshore. Thus the Windy App is a constant in our life onboard.

I primarily use ECMWF, but really appreciate the ability to compare multiple forecasts to get a sense of which is most accurate for wherever I happen to be.

@Korina Hi, love the app and use it sailing the East Coast of Australia. I like to refer to both ECMWF and GFS and this has been very reliable. Cheers for a great product.

For us, here in Greece, ECMWF does its magic quite good. It is a little more sensitive than usual in the sense that it predicts rainfall when the rainy clouds above retain the raindrops and don't release them to the ground but you cannot say that they don't exist!

Over the past few years I have sailed from New york to Alaska. I use the ECMWF most, but usually compare with GFS. I became a premium member early on because I want to support the BEST!

I'm finding for mountains in NE US, the NAM model is usually most accurate. In coastal areas I like ECWMF.
