In Colorado, I use the ECMWF for general trends for the coming days, and HRRR for getting an idea for hourly conditions for the next 8-12 hours in specific locations since the mountains can cause drastically different weather 50 miles apart.

I usually rely on the ECMWF models in California, USA. They've been very good for desert and foothill camping planning.

Weather Radar of course, as Windy.com combines weather models (rain & forecasts), and it's always only minutes from it's next update.

The ECMWF 9km model has been the most reliable model for me here in NZ

I find ECMWF the best for my location but when forecasters are throwing their hands up in the air unsure I just love seeing what HRRR and GFS have to say. Have not tried out Compare feature yet but it sure is time to here in New England US.

I'm from Brazil and I use most frequently the ECMWF model, due to its smaller area range (most accurate).
I frequently make a double check on the forecast (for same area and same period) using the GFS model -
I usually use the ECMWF 9km model to determine general trends here in Taiwan. I always check the compare feature when I want to be more confident.

Morning All, I use the ECMRF pretty much all the time as I find its the best for upper air forcasting where I operate. I'm a balloon pilot so I focus on 2000 - 5000 ft ASL.

I live in Australia at altitude so the ECMWF and ACCESS are generally the 2 I lean towards. Thanks for a wonderful product and resourcing tool.

I generally prefer ECMWF for checking weather forecast. I also use GFS sometimes. For some local weather forecast in India I use NCUM by NCMRWF.

I use the ECMWF model for clouds to determine what nights would be good for astronomy. However the ACCESS model by the Australian Bureau of Meteorology was slightly better at predicting how much rain actually fell over Adelaide during a day of heavy rainfall (48 mm) - June 22nd 2023. Was interesting to see the different rainfall predictions for each model and how they faired over the course of that day.

I live in Reno, Nevada and HRRR is the best one for me. NAM is a close second.

Nice post/remark of you: I use 90% ECMWF (european) and 10% GFS (american) in order to spot where they agree and where they diverge for the reasons you explained :-)
