I use ECMWF most often especially in the Gulf of Alaska and offshore Pacific. The new HRRR model has consistently been accurate in coastal Alaska in predicting "williwas" from the mountains.

@Korina Some models are better than others at particular locations. What would be helpful is to be able to compare models to actual past weather data to select the best one for different situations (seasonal, transitory weather events, extreme weather events, etc.). Could you add that feature?
To answer your question, I use ECMWF for the Salt Lake City, Utah, USA area. However, I'm not convinced that it's the best model.
-
In Germany I use ICON-D2

Kapıkule is the name of the Turkish border crossing point in Edirne Province on the border of Turkey and Bulgaria. Its counterpart on the Bulgarian side is Kapitan Andreevo. Together, they form the busiest land border crossing point in Europe. In the dawn of the Revolutions of 1989, the Kapıkule border crossing saw a mass exodus of Turks fleeing the forced assimilation laws of the mid to late 1980s in the People's Republic of Bulgaria into Turkey.Kapıkule Canlı

I use ECMWF. The compare tool will be helpful.

I love to watch all wind models simultaneously in the map with their direction tags. It gives me the brief overview over the range I can expect. Than I usually tend to check ECMWF and later the nature shows who is the today winner of everyday forecast efforts. Thanks to all who put their efforts into this never ending story :)

@Korina
In Vancouver Canada I use ECMWF for boating in the Georgia Straight. Need high resolution. -
NAM is the model I use on the west coast of NA....
-
@Korina ECMWF is the model I often use.
-
MBLUE is the one I use the most
-
ECMWF associated to Arome is the perfect combo for south of France.
-
My prefered model is the ICON-D2
-
@Korina ECMWF most of the time as I check on sailing weather on the south coast of England
-
UKV, closely followed by ECMWF
-
For me the best Is Icon-D2, the best Wind forecast in my area
-
For me in Germany in the south in Bavaria MBLUE looks more accurate then the others. I am using windy for sailing and the wind prediction is very important for me. Usually I am mediating between the models and some time I am using Gauss, eliminate the extremes and then mediate the remaining.

In Michigan, I like ECMWF and often compare to HRRR and NAM.
