Thanks for the post! It doesn't tell me a lot of new information, but it's good to know you are actively working on it. :)

I'm mostly using the ECMWF model for the Netherlands which seems relatively accurate. In the mountains, I prefer to use ICON-D2 because it works well for areas surrounded by mountains.

For an outdoor sportsman, ECMWF has been remarkably effective in fully explicating the day's current conditions and additionally, correctly predicting the upcoming situation here in the Great Lakes over the long-range period.

I mainly use both ECMWF and ICON, MBLUE rarely and GFS almost never; mostly for paragliding in Romania, Transylvania Area, Cluj-Napoca.

And also the satellite view, quite a lot.

ECMWF, the large european center seems to have fair predictions.

For longer range (i.e. greater than 4-5 days) the ECMWF is usually my go to model, although at times a blend of the GFS with it results in a better forecast. For shorter time ranges, the ICON seems to do well. It would be nice to see the GEM global model in the same data format as the others. For short term, the NAM and HRR add value to forecasts.

Cruising on a 35' sailboat in the SW Pacific, ECMWF is my go-to model. When GFS upgraded, I began compare the two regularly. Very useful in the 5-7 day windows. Even before that upgrade, I would use the compare feature when planning departure windows for ocean passages. Also, the Waves feature is very useful for sailors, most especially comparing wind base to wind gusts - indicating the volatility of the weather system, in addition to the more detailed wave info. Swell period under 9 seconds is very uncomfortable. Thanks for a great Windy!

I use the ECMWF for long range, then the GFS for 3 days out. For a daily look a head is use the HRRR. I do like how all the models are in one place on windy.

@Korina here in the middle of the US, I tend to rely on GFS, but I am often startled by how different the 3 US National Weather Service models (GFS, NAM, HRRR) are.

Meteoblue is most accurate for the mountains of the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska during the winter.

I work in the cruise industy Sailing all over the world, I mainly use the ECMWF model on a daily basis and compare it with others sources and models, so far the ECMWF has been the most effecient and acurate in all my weather analysis forecast. Besides the route planner (with Premium) helps me to get a better understanding of the backing and veering of the wind direction for a better ships planning operation.

Hi All, sailing all year round in the mediterránea, I'm comparing both ECMWF and Arome. ECMWF for the short and mid range forecasts and Arome for short passage 12-24h with this more precise forecast model 1.3km but only 24-36h window and bearing in mind the specificities when closer to the coasts. I used to sail in Ireland too for many years and both forecast models seem to be the most reliable too.

                                    Hi, @Korina

My most used weather model in Canary Islands (NW Africa - Spain) is ECMWF.

                                    Best Wishes 😊🌤️

East Med, I use ECMWF mostly. In springtime however all the models are less reliable, so I'm usually on the Compare Feature :)

The ECMWF seems to be the most accurate for my locale, but having the ability to compare the different models gives me more overall confidence in any given forecast. and, they are just that - forecasts, not guarantees.

I mostly use ECMWF for kitesurfing/sailing, METEOBLUE for snowborading/trekking and GFS for motorcycling! :)
