It is possible to have the 500 hPa geopotential height on all layers as well as we have for pressure lines? Thank you very much
-
@agbruno You can choose to display different isolines.
Pressure, Geopot. height, Temperature, Freezing altitude. The only one that has a little switch is "pressure" though.
Hope that helps! -
Ist IT possible to have a weather Radar forecast Like weather.com?

@der_unfassbare_ Unfortunately, there is only one color scheme in radar layer.
-
What I mean is: I have rain layer with pressure and I would like to have rain layer with geopotential height at 500hPa, but it seems that this is impossible..
-
@agbruno Hi, as you said, this is not possible for rain layer, since Geopotential height is available only for certain layers.
-
@Ondřej-Šutera @agbruno Oh I see. My apologies for misinterpreting. I'd agree then, I think it would be a great feature if one could plot various isolines in combination with all the different layers - like pressure acts now.

Yes. It would be a great feature if one could plot various isolines in combination with all the different layers - like pressure acts now.
I hope it will be done in a next release -

@Ahmed-A-AS
Yes, but with Rain or Radar layers, the isolines of Geopotential heights are shown at surface ! What information does it provide? Nothing.
Users typically want geopotential isolines at 500 hPa or at other level, but not at surface or near the surface.
In Windy these geopotential heights are displayed in meters, not in decameters (dam). So 540 means 54 dam, not 540 dam. -
Geopotential isolines at 500 hPa are very useful for medium-long term forecasts.
I will continue to ask for this feature to be released: to plot geopotential isolines at 500 hPa in combination with all the different layers - like pressure acts now.

@agbruno
In fact what is needed is the ability to use the altitude slider with all layers in order to set Geopot. heights a 500hPa. But if using the Pressure layer + GP heights, users should understand that Pressure is amsl and the GP heights at the level set by the Altitude slider. -

GP heights
it would be enough to add a specific 500 hPa click button
-
@agbruno
And if someone wants to have the geopotential heights at 250/300 hPa level along the jet stream, the slider is useful.As already requested, I would be so glad to get the geopotential heights as a color shaded layer, not only as isolines. It is the best way to analyse the 500hPa-surface heights. It would enable to set isobars (amsl) or temperature isolines (at 500 hPa).

@idefix37
The ability to use the altitude slider with all layers in order to set Geopot. heights would be the best. I hope to see this ability or at least the click button soon -
you change a lot. Dont like new features. THE velocit and direction arrows is not the same. Is annoying. I pay premiun suscription

@ginoar
This has not been changed.

@agbruno I understand you are talking about the standard Sounding tool.

I've been begging for this feature for years. It's currently impossible to overlay 500mb heights on the satellite map. My suggestions is to allow the current altitude-slider to plot selected isolines for either the Geopotential height or pressure options as an overlay on any selected weather basemap (wind/temp/satellite/RH).
Also, Windy needs to add an option in settings to thicken the isolines to allow for better viewing.
