When I try to modify the displayed layers it suddenly disappears. I did not find a way to make it visible again.

Yes, that's it. But it disappears after clicking on more layers, and I don't know how to start it again, and I don't know if the data for the current option is based on the selected altitude?

It is so obvious that the Altitude slider allows to change the forecast parameters levels.
You can’t see it ? This slider is on the main screen, very easy to find it !

I am having the same problem: I cannot find the corresponding functionality in the web-application "windy.com"Screenshot_20230727_185127_Windy.jpg . Is it hidden somewhere or not available at the moment. (Sometimes the weather situation is better understood by looking at levels above the ground. This slider therefore, seems very useful to me.)
