What was that update today?

What was that update? An announcement was on the main page when I opened Windy today. Now it's gone. It said something about a new weather model. Nothing new seems to be available to download, and the website is the same. thx

Hi @jame5 ,
it's a summary of what's new in the version 39 which you might already use.
You can see it again here: https://www.windy.com/whats-new

@nesro Thank you. I actually became a premium member because what you had for free was so good! I felt you guys deserved it on that alone.

I suppose the changes in the view I noticed today, July 11 in the iPadOS App are a result of an app version update ? Can‘t say different that I am not happy with quite some changes some of which limiting the experience which is nasty especially as I recently was „convinced“ (adoring to say „bullied“) into a Premium subscription. Note: as I appreciate this great SW I donated in the past and would have appreciated a discount at least. Anyhow, here are my dislikes:
-
Favorite places on the map only appear on the start view after launching the app and are gone late, can only be fetched via the menu
-
Previous versions allowed to point any place on the map and get a forecast, Now this is only possible for named places, hence one must zoom into the map and cannot gradually change the place.
-
The starting view appears to show only the very high level graphic timeline on the bottom. Once can pick a place (see above 2) and then gets the numbers, but that‘s not conformatable
-
the weather model on iPad could be changed with one click. Now it takes two: 1 click on the current model, another to select a different model
Guess there is more but maybe it is me who can change all of this ? If not, my verdict is: The efforts to unclutter the visuals are a clear step backwards. Hope some can be reverted.
Else many thanks for the efforts so far.

@WindyWestfale Unfortunately, there are no plans to revert to the older version, however, we collect feedbacks about the new one, so ti is possible that something can be adjusted.
This change can look like a big one, because iPads used to have the desktop version, instead of the mobile one. Now all of these devices have the mobile version.
