      Is it possible to add radar for areas where there is no coverage? As is done in Ventusky, Meteoblue, Wetteronline.

        @cloudy_ My guess is they aren't using actual radar data but instead using satellite data. You can use the Satellite INFRA+ layer to get the same effect on Windy.
        The Weather radar layer is showing actual radar data from actual on the ground weather radar installations (combined with Blitzortung et al lightning data).

          Yes, I know. But not always the satellite data matches these radars. And there's also the ability to look into the future not a few hours into the future.

            Radar is better than satellite when it comes to reliable information regarding precip.
            Model precipitation forecasts are available in the Rain, thunder layer - it gives a good visual of where the models think precip will happen.
