Hello, I use W premium for sailing. Mainly on iPhone and iPad. I’m playing with the route planner. How do I enter my proposed departure time? I can see the distance along the table, can I also get it in date and time? Is there an updated tutorial for the app?

        Hi,

You can change the departure time by scrolling the time line.
I made a sort of tutorial:

Note the wind direction reference in the diagram is set to Left to right, not to North up.

@idefix37 thanks for your reply👍 So wind direction is RELATIVE to boat, that was clearifying. 1: When i slide the start time, I don’t have the time interval showing like you have. See screen shot. 2: when i tap on the distance line, it does not change to time. 3: when I tap on time line, the dot moves on the course line, but the weather does not change / update. IMG_0341.png

You have not the speed turn on.
And then try to tap on the table.

So know did you get the way to change the departure time ? And the weather map updated with the boat position ?

                    That’s fine !
I think they will change the wind direction reference to North up in next release.
Otherwise there would be only the missing possibility to get the bearing of each leg and the coordinates of waypoints. They are shown in the Distance&planning page, but there is way to switch back to this page without deleting the Route. Hope there will be a solution.

@idefix37 regarding coordinates, i use windy for weather routing, not for navigation, so I am OK with that. Thank for your swift respons on Fastnet race sunday👍

@idefix37 regarding wind direction: i like as it is, they just need to say ’rel. wind direction’. For a planning tool it make sense to show if I get following winds or head winds.

Yes, I like it too. But in the browser version you can choose in the options the wind direction reference that you prefer. This is even better.
“Rel. wind direction” would be more explicit but it would need to specify in addition the direction of boat course.
