Temperature question in satellite view

Curious as to why the satellite temp says 78° in Indianapolis. The temperature is much warmer at around 90°.

The temperature shown in the Satellite view has nothing to do with the air temperature at ground level.
It is the temperature measured by infra red sensors of satellites, used to know the height of cloud tops. Forget it at ground level.
I think the confusion can be made because this temperature and the color scale are displayed with the 3 types of view i.e. blue, visible and infra+.
