@Rares agree. The widget on my Samsung A52s has taken a huge step backwards.

It’s a poor UI design to have the cross or whatever you are calling it, off in some random place on the screen. It’s not in the center and irritates me every time I use the app. Do you think it’s better to have a fixed point on the screen to see the conditions and have to scroll the map around instead?

The earlier versions allowed you to select any place on the map to see the wind. We are sailors and that’s what we want to see…the apps name is windy right? Let us select the point anywhere we want without moving the map!!

I've adapted to the new layout and features. My only request would be to have access to 3 or 6 months of radiosonde records, from the pull down list of radiosonde records. Thank you.

@vict90 It is more laggy and sometimes menu items disappear or don't work. The timeline disappears randomly. The former app was perfect. Not now. 😓

I don't like the new interface. With the old app it was pretty easy to get the predicted wind speeds at a given altitude and location. This has become an awkward task in the new app.

I love the new changes to the windy app! I have encountered problems with setting the webcam view when I attempt to add webcams in both the mobile app and desktop version. When I type in the name of the webcam view the loading icon contiuously rotates and no options appear (in contrast to the location search for setting the webcam location which contiues to function well). It appears as though this feature is broken. When will this helpful feature be fixed?

Oh dear ! I’m struggling with the new version. I can’t find my preferred forecast easily and it feels as if everything has been turned upside down. Far too many changes have been implemented all at once and it’s just hugely frustrating trying to find your way around the new layout which I am not finding intuitive at all. I wish I could opt out and go back to the earlier system.

@cathy666's comment is on spot. Too much has changed, no option to continue as was.
I don't like the new interface, I don't understand the problems it was trying to solve.
Also, the time scroller at the bottom disappears for no reason and I don't know how to get it back.

As I have stated previously, I love the amount of effort the team puts in to make this the best weather app on the market. However, the latest updates seems to be simply for the sake of change and not because it added any real measurable value (at least, that seems to be the consensus of a large percentage of the user base).

I think making so many dramatic changes to a UI that was (in my humble opinion as a former UX/UI designer) nearly perfect as it was, is a bit too much all at once. It's never a good idea to make a change then try to foist it upon the users because you, as the designer/developer, say that it's better. You can't know for certain if some change or update is going to be better until you put it in the hands of your users and test it in real time. After the latest update, the sentiment seems pretty clear that most of us are not in favor of the update. The ideas behind the changes seem sound, but the execution wasn't what I've come to expect from Windy.

Seek not perfection, for the very nature of "perfect" is quite antithetical to the essense of being human.

How do you pin a location in the map now, so when you move the map around that location and its picker remains, like in the broswer version?

I don’t mean the Pin menu, but what you could do in previous versions and the web version, like holding on a point in the map and get the measures for that point?

Very nice, thanks for this version. I use Windy for sailing and the route planning feature is handy, you can see the forecast along the intended track with its change in time. But I have a few problems with it.

                            1. I assume the time shown on top of the forecast data in the yellow box is the intended departure time. When I now tap in the data to place a cursor, the time show on the vertical line is wrong, it even does not increase monotonously from left to right, it jumps randomly.

                            2. The wind direction arrows do not make sense to me. Is it showing absolute wind direction (north up) or is it showing the direction relative to the track (head up). Both variants do not agree with the with the direction shown in the animation

In the web view the orientation of the wind barbs in the route planner can be changed unter "more options", but there is no such setting in the app.

                                  Hi
When I use the new route planning, it seams as if the wind direction is shown completely wrong. An other small detail - if the route takes 3 days there are no symbols for day or night. It is all sunny, even in the middle of the night. I use it for sailing.

@Arne-Christensen-3 I have the same problem. I think the wind direction is shown relative to the planned track with the head of boat pointing to the right, somewhat counter intuitive. The arrows are green for down wind and get red for up wind courses. In the web version of windy you can change the orientation of the arrows (barbs) under "more options" but this setting is missing in the app.

Shading of day/night times as in the "normal" forecast would be nice in deed.

@vict90 I feel the same. Main points that need attention for me are:

                                      • performance on Android (it is loosing a lot of frames now)
                                      • disappearing timeline (only way to fix it is app restart)

Yes, the default setting of wind direction reference in the Route planner on mobile app is “Left to right”. It is not really intuitive and need a thorough explanation. As there is no possibility to change it, at least it would be necessary to have North up as default setting. May be in next update ?

iPhone 14 last IOS, premium, the widget does not update its location ….
I have to go in settings, turn on and off there and get back and only then the widget readjusts to current location.

The app detects current location, no problem.
