Where are the wind dirction on windy for iPad?
-
@ansve
You have to turn on Particles animation in the menu. -
@idefix37 Thanks, that did it. Is it a way to have wind arrows also?
-
Hi David, I really like your app, but have some concerns with regards the new update.
Please see my comment here:

@ansve
No there is no wind arrows in the wind layers. -
Is there a way to see how much rain an area has gotten in the past 24 hours?
-
@dies2much That would be too useful for Windy to focus on
-
So let me tell you a story. I used to use AccuWeather for 5+ years before, they introduced a horrible new UI that is still there years later. Luckily Windy had an app and I switched to it, as I was using it in Desktop mode.
So it is possible I can find another replacement to Windy, because companies that force new, worse UX on users don't deserve my time and money
-
@David-Polášek it s ameizing your app
-
@Ftjwinfs hey don't blame the developers, I'm sure they hated implementing it because a complex UI means complex code and developers don't like doing things in a non-obvious/straightforward way. Someone from design must have pushed this down their throat.
-
You are right, I was inaccurate. I was meaning those guys at Windy, who thought the design decisions for v39 (in particular the location picker) are of any good.
-

@rondoc
When the position is crosshair is at the location you want, look up to the top right of the screen, there is the option for “forecast at this position”. Click that and the forecast you are use to seeing will come up at the bottom. I use windy for boating and offshore fishing (50-100 miles off shore Gulf). I initially was annoyed at the change to windy but now I am coming to appreciate the differences and find it easier to work with. We are all resistant to change it seems. -
I would like to see added when I tap the House icon, in the week forecast, a label for the current model I'm using GFS etc. so I can see which model I'm in quickly.
Change is hard, I think you raised the bar with the apps function. Good job. -
You just need to tap the screen to see the model displayed in top left corner.
But if the ECMWF model is the used one, nothing is displayed. This means it is the default model. -
@idefix37 nice !
-
This will take a bit of getting used to on a Pixel5.
Really nice enhancements - got 'em all set up like I want in minutes.
Thanks for making this app even more useful and valuable! -
I would want a label for the current model I'm using, such as GFS, to be added when I hit the House symbol in the week forecast so I can immediately identify which model I'm in.
Change is difficult, and I believe you set the bar higher with the apps' functionality. Excellent work -
@kelseyradley
The model label is shown in the top window, except that of the default model. -
I found the loss of the flag with continuing weather data so upsetting that I cancelled my subscription.
Hope it returns - I liked the small flag with wind speed based on my destination.
