Pointless thumbnails instead of list
-
Hi,
I have been using this app for a while. I use it for weather but mostly for pollution tracking it used to be a simple process to flick through the various options. Now the text telling you what data you are looking at is tiny but you have a massive thumbnail that doesnt help inform you what the map/layer is but does completely clutter the list that now takes up nearly the whole screen of my samsung s23 ultra. It also makes scanning the map/layer hard you have to look at each one. Tbh just because certain UI looks become fashionable does not make them functional or easy to use. You also force your users to generate new habits for no real benefit. This mistake has been made by microsoft and other Os makers so many times i would expect a young nimble company like yourselves not to fall into the same trap of changing things for looks.
Kind regards

@mattiger Thank you for reporting this. I already forwarded your review of the new interface to colleagues for consideration.

@mattiger I actually reverted the app back one update as the text menu is way easier for me to use

@Korina It's foolish to force users into the UX you as a developer wants.
A good way to solve this would be to simply have a setting to toggle between a list view or thumbnail view...

Agree. New UI is pointless and a step backward. Should not prioritize pretty over functional. Thumbnails are pointless, convey zero information, use up critical screen space, and actually make functions more difficult to find and use. I use Windy primarily on an iPhone and secondarily on an iPad. Screen real estate is critical.
