Pressure for the weather station
-
Hi,
Where can I find the instant value for the pressure? I need it to calibrate my barometer.
A two digit number will be fine (ie 1013.10)
I only saw the pressure graph but not the values.
-
@Fblc You can use Pressure layer, but we still talk about the forecast only.
-
I am talking about the weather station in the layer wind observed.
When I click on one station the temperature, wind are displayed but not the pressure. That would be great.
-
@Fblc depending on the station it might not report pressure. Airports usually do, in that case I would suggest the "Airports" layer to get the METAR data.
-
It's the wmo-10044 station. There is a graph about the pressure so I presume that the station reports pressure. But no way to have the value (ie 1013.1 hpa).
-
@Fblc why not use EDHK airport to calibrate your barometer?
And because not all weather stations report pressure, I can imagine it being somewhat taxing to perform a check for every single available weather station to determine if it has a pressure value or not and decide whether to show that value...so a blanket process of showing a trend vs a value for pressure for the reported layers seems to be the most efficient choice in my mind.
I could be wrong though
-
Because I have an electronic barometer and need one digit after the coma. 1013.1 not only 1013. The airport has no digit after the coma.
-
@Fblc
By the way, this weather station is at sea, at the top of a lighthouse. You don’t have another weather station near your location that you can contact ? -
@Fblc Sorry, not sure what to tell you then. The airports where I live report in inHg. I didn't realize they report in rounded hpa there.
-
@Wheats
In this example the weather station of the airport reports the pressure in hPa with a decimal digit, like 1009.1 hPa.So your idea to refer to an airport is right.

Weather Websites or Apps: - Many weather websites and apps provide real-time weather information, including current pressure readings. Websites like Weather.com, AccuWeather, or The Weather Channel, as well as weather apps like The Weather App or Weather Underground, often display the current atmospheric pressure in your area.Local Meteorological Stations: - You can check with your local meteorological stations or government weather agencies. They often provide real-time weather data, including pressure readings, on their websites.
Smart Home Devices: - If you have a smart home device like Amazon Echo or Google Nest, you can ask them for the current atmospheric pressure, and they might provide you with the information.
Barometric Pressure Sensor: -
If you have access to a digital barometric pressure sensor, you can use it to measure the current atmospheric pressure directly.Contact a Local Weather Enthusiast or Club: -
Sometimes local weather enthusiasts or clubs might have access to real-time weather data and could provide you with the current pressure reading. -
@Fblc
So you can right now use this link to calibrate the barometer from your weather station:
https://www.wetterzentrale.de/en/observations.php?map=3&model=SYNOP&var=23&time=11&h=0
Don't wait for Windy to change the weather station diagram. -
Thanks folks. I will check that.
By the way it could be possible to windy to just display the values they use to display their hpa chart. Just a few lines of code.
-
@idefix37 What is this website. Seems great.
-
@Fblc
Your question is strange. You refer the weather station wmo 10044 which is located at sea in Germany. So I guess you’re German, you should know this well known weather website:
https://www.wetterzentrale.de/en/default.php -
@idefix37 I'm curious about what website that is in your previous screenshot as well.
-
@Wheats
This French weather website is:
https://www.infoclimat.fr
By the way they show weather stations in Canada but very few:

I am not German I just sail in Baltic 😉
-
@idefix37 very interesting, thank you
-
@Fblc you're welcome.
I found what I need in the previous link.
