Different data between normal view and route planning view
-
It seems that there is different data between normal view and route planning view for the same time period.
EG I drew a route and examined the weather for a period from 7am to 5pm Sunday the 20th. When I review the same time period on the standard page it has significantly different weather predictions?
am I doing something wrong? -
@Fuzzy
You probably to the wind direction which seems different in map and in the planner diagram. See some explanation here:

@idefix37 Thanks for that I will review it again with reference to the direction of the yacht. Maybe they could adjust the heading somehow to indicate that.

@Fuzzy
Yes, you are right. It would be necessary to improve it, either-
Using North up as default setting
-
Allow to choose the direction reference, same as on website (North up, Left to right, Bottom to top)
-
Or at least, give a minimum information
-
-
@idefix37 Please check this screenshot, it should be possible in the web and iOS version at this moment.
-
@Ondřej-Šutera
Excellent !
But as already requested for the Route planner on website, it would better that North up was the default setting instead of Left to right.
-
@idefix37 Unfortunately, it has to be set before the first usage, but it will be saved then.
-
@Ondřej-Šutera
Yes I know. North up as default setting would avoid many questions, because clicking the 3 dots is not obvious. -
@Ondřej-Šutera
In addition to the 3 dots and the pop-up window, a more visible setting could be added like that:
This would be more obvious and intuitive if the wind reference direction was displayed as:
- North up,
- Left to right,
- Bottom to top.
-
@idefix37 I am aware of that potential confusion, but this was decided by the team. According to info I got, it could be confusing for those who already changed it to anything else than North Up and also there was a certain issue with the change on our end.

@Ondřej-Šutera
I think you are answering the question of the default setting Left to Right.
But in case it remains the default setting and in any case, wouldn't it be useful to let the user know the current setting as shown in my screenshot, even if it's a bit redundant? Clearly showing that the setting is Left to right.
