Hello to all Windy community folks,

I've been accessing this wonderful site for years but having a particular matter to find out about, today I decided to register.

Questions in regards to land location and alerts:

      1. In the Premium version, for a land location, how are the alerts set? By location's name or by location's coordinates?

      2. can, for a particular land location, 8 other alert locations around it be chosen and set at the same time?

Example, The thunderstorm is coming from the West. Location X is 25 km westward from location Y and I want to be alerted when the storm hit location X. Is this how the alerts work in the Premium version?

        Hello,
I think you misunderstood what triggers an alert. Alerts are not based on actual events but on forecasts. For example, if you set an alert for 10 mm of rain, the next time the default model, ECMWF, predicts 10 mm of rain and more on the location, 2 or 3 days before, you will receive an alert notification for this forecast. But if the model predicts no rain or less and there is a storm, you will not receive an alert because it is a real event which has not been predicted.
There is no difference between Premium and free alerts, only the number of possible alerts is different.
You can choose a place name or coordinates, but you can also simply place the picker on the map wherever you want. It is not necessary that the localization be very precise because the resolution of the model is 9 km.

          Ahoy,

Thank you very much for your reply.
It would be very nice, if one day, the land alerts sent by Windy can be according to real time event(s) taking place.
