Extreme warnings - only for my area
-
Hi;
after opening (web page or Windy app) Windy shows an Extreme Warning for Hurricabe Hilary in front of the US coast. But I am in Germany and have not been to the US as long as I use Windy.IMHO it would be sufficient to see warning from my area - which could be a radius (settable) around my location, my country or even continent. Being forced to see warning from the other side of the world is quite...useless/distracting.
Kind regards

@Carsten-Wegner Hi, we usually publish these news about large hurricanes globally, so that is the reason why you see this now.

@Carsten-Wegner
Hi Carsten, in rare cases, like major hurricanes with a landfall, we usually publish the article globally as it is an interesting weather phenomenon, and Windy users are often weather enthusiasts. I agree that the "Extreme warning" tag isn't really a warning in other states. That is something we can think of in future development.
In both the app and desktop, the article disappears immediately after you make the first move or click on the map.
Thanks for understanding. David

@David-Polášek I mean, if it's targeted at a global audience, then you should use global language and refer to the region by name rather than something as vague as "The west coast".

I agree about the poor warnings!
When I load the forecast of a favourite spot doesn´t pop up a warning when there actually IS a critical wheathersituation. I have to look to the radar and see thunderstorms over there.Windy is IMO overdeveloped and unnecessarily cluttered -especially the desktopversion.
As a paraglider I need to see the hard facts at first glance!
