      The model update time of the two websites Meteologix and Weathernerds is often much earlier than that of Windy. I hope that Windy users can also get earlier forecast information.

        @fangjia052 Hi, unfortunately, it is not planned to make more updates of offered models right now.

          Are you talking about ECMWF model?
          The dissemination of the free 0.5° and 0.4° versions (“WMO essentials”) of this model is earlier than the HRES (IFS) version the 0.1° resolution. Windy uses this version while other weather apps don’t need it because they show only wide scale maps.
          See dissemination schedule of HRES in UTC time. Then you must add a little more time for data processing by Windy to get the update.

            @idefix37

            Meteorologix uses also the HRES version, same as Windy.

            I’ll test their real update time.

              Windy shows updated data when all parameters have been updated at each time step.
              Meteorologix starts showing updated parameters by updated parameters and time step by time step.
              For instance here for geopotential heights (btw this layer is really missing in Windy). You see at 8:00 a part of time steps are updated (the green ones) but not all of them, while in Windy the update will be at 9:50, but complete.

                @idefix37 I agree, it would be nice to get the 500hpa layer with geopotential heights as shown in your post.
                With Windy, I use the temperature layer, with the slider at 500hpa and the geopotential lines. This allows to see the thalweg and the ridges together with the cold air massa (in purple). By checking the layer here, we see immediately why the weather in Spain, France and Benelux is so good

                  It is exactly what I am doing, with temperature layer or wind layer too. But with some colours the thin white isolines are not easily visible.

                  the weather in Spain, France and Benelux is so good

                  “So good” …may be for you in Belgium but not in most places in France and Spain where we have more than 40°C in southern towns.
                  Geopotential is very high and freezing level at 5000m !

                  Here is the Extreme forecast layer

                    @idefix37 By good I mean sunny (because of the ridge that we can see). But you are completely right that temperatures in the South part are very high and difficult to support for many people
