Hate the new weather picker

It's hard to state how much I hate the new implementation of the weather picker in the app. Every time I move the map it appears and covers up part of the screen unnecessarily. But if I go to Settings and choose to auto-close it after so many seconds, then it disappears when I need it, like when I want to see rain accumulation for different time periods and with different models for a location. But if I set it to not auto-close, then I have to constantly keep tapping the X to make the junk at the top of the screen go away. Very annoying. The old implementation was much better. Sometimes new and different isn't better.
