      I was using the 'Fire Intensity' layer in windy.com to track the wildfire threatening Yellowknife, NT, CANADA. Two days ago it showed up, but when I turn on the fire intensity layer now, nothing shows up for that fire or any of the others in the area.Screenshot 2023-08-22 at 1.10.17 PM.png

        @Joseph-Howard-3
        You turned this layer on. It allows to add this layer in the short list. But to show the Fire intensity layer at screen, you have to click on ”Fire intensity” it self or on the icon in the short list.

          @idefix37 What "short list", where?
          I have been clicking all over the place. I cannot find another place to add 'fire intensity'. This is what I see on the top right ...Screenshot 2023-08-23 at 2.10.21 PM.png

            @Joseph-Howard-3 click on More Layers then scroll down on the new list shown until you see Fire intensity. Click it and you should be good togo

              @idefix37 OK, I figured out how to get fire intensity back on the screen. But it is still not showing the big fire (that has been in the news) which is about 10 km west of Yellowknife. It was there a few days ago but is no longer showing up. I see another one north-west of Yellowknife but that is not it.Screenshot 2023-08-23 at 2.16.26 PM.png

              A freind noticed the same thing on their Windy app.

                @Joseph-Howard-3 Windy is using data from the Copernicus satellite. It's not picking up any significant heat signatures in that area.

                Here's another resource you can use for US and Canada forest fire information. It also doesn't show any heat signatures near Yellowknife.
                A bit of an information overload compared to just "fire intensity", but a very interesting tool to have in the toolbelt.

                Windy.com team - I've mentioned it in a different post but here it is again.
                I hope you will consider investing some time and resources into more detailed forest fire information - the above site and also zoom.earth are very good at showing this type of information, as well as smoke imagery.

                  @Wheats Thanks. It's strange because it was picking up the heat signatures up until a few days ago, then all of a sudden there was nothing.

                    @Joseph-Howard-3 I think it's quiet lately - they got some rain and also suppression operations are ongoing. Hopefully they are making good ground at controlling the situation.
