Radar coverage gaps in CONUS

A few days ago, it appears you changed radar coverage so that it is only shown to a fixed radius from radar stations (see attached graphic). Previously, radar returns were shown pretty much everywhere within CONUS. Why the change? And can you restore the coverage used previously?
