Grossly Incorrect Wind Speed
-
The wind speed is grossly incorrect! A CAT 3 hurricane does not have max wind speeds of 70-80 mph! I have paid for my subscription which seems like a mistake. People rely on this for life saving information. This is inexcusable.

I have been a long time Windy user an advocate. I found it to be extremely accurate over the years untill very recently. I thought perhaps it needed an update, so I re-installed, I though perhaps I needed to upgrade to premium so I did soo. Unfortunately the problem persistent and became grossly obvious how in accurate it is with when looking at the hurricane weather system. Please look a this image which indicates wind speed at the cross hairs as 10 knots
It seems that that the cross hairs scrolling showing forecast at a specific location is not matching the scale on th bottom which is accurate. Something in the cross hairs tool is glitching and needs an update -
@Alex-Wruck this seems to be a bug. Here there is also a report of this.
https://community.windy.com/topic/28170/hurricane-wind-gusts-say-15ktsFrom what I can tell, windy samples/measures at the top left corner of the screen instead of the position of the cross
This becomes clear if you enable the tide layer. Once the tide icon touches the top left corner of the screen a new box will open containing the tide prediction for that location.

Hi, yes, unfortunately, this is a bug and we already fixed this on other platforms. However, Android is a bit delayed because of other issues. On the other hand, we are already starting to release the new version (v.39.3.2) in these days and it should be available for all Android users in upcoming days.

@Ondřej-Šutera Honestly I think this bug is so critical, that somehow you need to inform current users. Probably trough a "weather warning" that warns about this critical bug.

@Ftjwinfs yes the app is essentially useless to me without being able to understand wind and wave forecast at specific location at a specific time using the cross hairs and time scroll bar. The safety of my crew can no longer depend on the validity of this application unless this bug is fixed...

@Alex-Wruck Yes, we are aware of this problem and the new version is on the way, meanwhile I can assure you that the rest of platforms is okay, mobile web browser included.
