New windy interface

Hello,
I'm struggling with the new interface, i find it harder to swap between models i.e. wind and waves and also I mainly use the app, so everytime I zoom in or out the center moves and i lose that reading, is there a way to select the old interface that you press and hold to mark a place? And having the models in list like before (less data usage).
The distance and route planning is brilliant, i like that, but overall in not worth, considering to cancel the subscription and find another provider.

Yes, the new app is not ergonomic.
Just to improve it, you can change the display duration of the picker in Settings:
Then to reduce the number of layers or parameters (what you call models, but models are ECMWF, GFS, ICON…) you can show a limited number of layers by a long press on those you want to pin (see the pin icon on main screen).

While I love Windy, I hate the new thumbnails/pictures listing of layers (currently Android mobile.html 39.3.2 but it showed up earlier this summer); it takes me noticeably longer to find what I want to show. Is there a way to go back to the text style (Android mobile.html 38.1.5 on my other phone -- that I have not allowed to upgrade!)?

Guys at Windy. Above you see the report of yet another user who reports that the new UI is NOT more user-friendly than before.
During the last weeks I Iearned that at Windy you guys have the impression, that the new UI is easier to use. As reported many, many times by a lot of users, this is sadly not the case.
Please consider to revert certain things or at least provide options, so that the user can decide upon the preferred mode of interaction.Things that need to be fixed:
- location picker
- auto-zoom
- layer list

I agree. I have complained several times about the location picker when using a tablet. The previous was much easier to use.
So, they should listen to the community.

I've just discovered the new UI. It is worse, Windy please undo some of your UX changes. The worst bit is the weather picker. It is a bad UX to put the information like wind angle and speed at the top of the screen, we want to see the main animation and changing wind with specific wind angle and strength at the picker, like it was.
I can either look at the animations, or the numbers at the top of the screen, but not both. It's like putting the speedo on your car in front of your passengers seat.
I am now pausing the animation constantly to see all the information, please revert.

Please change back. The new upgrade has so many bugs. Times out and makes you start again. It is very unfriendly and basically make me want to revert to local apps when I know you were the best. The way the app is now I am about to give up on windy. You used to be the best. The silly cross hair thing really is a down grade. Please please change back before you loose so many weather geeks and professionals.

I would suggest to keep the new version of the app as a basis. I am sure, that there are many changes under the hood that are very positive and that we as users are not aware of.
But seriously, the user interaction/experience needs to be fixed or needs to be made configurable:
- Old vs. new location selection process
- List vs. thumbnails for layers
- Auto-zoom behaviour
