      In the screen shot of a point forecast below, arrows are used to depict wind, swell and swell 2 directions. In the numerical chart further below, there are rows for wind, waves, and swell data.

      I understand "waves" = wind waves + swell + swell2.

      Is there a reason waves is shown in the numeric data but not on the diagram?

      Similarly, is there a reason swell2 is shown on the diagram but not in the numeric data?

      I primarily care about waves, swell, and wind. Both magnitude and direction for all 3, if that matters.

        I think the diagram with the arrows was designed for surfers/boarders. If you select surf/windsurf spots in the map items, you get the identical diagrams on each spot. These guys are not interested in waves (the total sea) but mainly in swell, swell2 and wind waves to know if they will have a "cross sea" or a pure swell.
        The figures in the table are more interesting for sailors.
