How to set/keep weather location on watch?
-
@carpediemi24 I am sorry for wrong info about the release, I discussed this with colleagues. There were certain and unfortunately more important issues with other features for Apple Watch. This fix should be in the next release from now.

@Ondřej-Šutera Hard to imagine what other issues could have been worse, since Apple Watch location complications are still broken. Ridiculous for a premium subscription app. Frankly, Windy is striking out, lately. I didn’t have any of these issues with v38. It’s been a buggy downhill slide ever since v39.

@gdtrfb Our colleagues are already working on the fix for this. Unfortunately, Apple made many changes in their conditions for apps for Apple Watch, so there was a lot to be changed on our end according to these regulations. Without that, it would be possible that our app wouldn't work at all.

Hello @gdtrfb ,
I hope this message finds you well. As was previously mentioned by @Ondřej-Šutera , I have been occupied with the recent developments surrounding Apple's restrictions, which have rightfully taken precedence in my priorities. However, I wish to assure you that I have not overlooked the matter of implementing locations in widgets.
In contemplating this issue, I have given considerable thought to the approach we should take. One option is to adopt a similar approach as with the old complications, where the default location was chosen due to technical constraints. Nevertheless, I am inclined to explore alternative avenues for widgets. While it would be simpler to follow the default location approach, I believe it may not be the most accurate course of action. Therefore, I have chosen the more intricate path, one that will enable widgets to support all user-defined locations on their respective watches.
I must emphasize that this decision will necessitate more extensive modifications within the application. It will undoubtedly pose challenges and consume more time, but I firmly believe it to be the most correct and comprehensive approach.
Thank you for your understanding and patience as we work towards enhancing the functionality of our widgets.

@SimonUrbanek I appreciate your reply, thank you. I am still baffled why it is not simply possible to manually set a location for my widgets to load. It would be more understandable if the difficulty was only in keeping the widget updated with a constantly changing location (for example, if someone was driving a significant distance), but it seems like there should be some solution for manually forcing a single location to stay set. The Watch App has the ability to pull up the ‘forecasts’ in the app of my pre-saved locations, why is it not able to simply load that same information to the widget face?
Considering Windy Apple Watch Faces have been broken for months, perhaps it’s time to remove this feature from your advertising. It is one of the most prominent features showcased on the App Store page, but if a feature no longer works, it is no longer a feature. It’s disappointing that as a paid subscriber, I’ve had to seek out different weather apps that do work as advertised.

I have the same issue with the watch face showing strange weather, -80C etc in Praha. I would like to follow this conversation to know when the face is fixed. Thanks!

@TNTDJ May I ask for your version of Windy and iOS/WatchOS?

I had the same issue and i found the solution! You have to adjust the settings of the iphone windy app. Allow windy to access your location ALWAYS and the watch automatically updates the location.
Greetings and have fun!

Hello,
Unfortunately, same issue came back with WatchOS 11. I cannot get rid of Praha from the widget.Best,

Hi,
Is there any chance to change the FW for the watch app to select and fix the chosen location ?
I’ve read many threads here and a lot of users would like to fix their location and do not turn on GPS to update the forecast.
