After using the new UI layout for a while now I’d like to make a suggestion.

I’d like to make it easier to switch between forecast models when viewing certain layers.

Also, displaying the runtimes beside the model forecast would be very helpful.

Please see my mockup screenshot below.

It would be more convenient to have the run time number (12Z) etc.

I’d also like to suggest the ability to pin different tools along the top banner specific to each user.

I would never use the distance planner or sounding tool for my specific use of Windy.

Switching between weather models directly in the top banner would be really great ! But the touch area for units (here wind speed units in kt) would be very close, may be too close?
In the other hand I don’t agree with your idea to show the complete information of the model update, because you remove Distance & planning and Sounding butons.

In the example above, with the altitude info, there is not so much space to add update details. For me showing for example ACCESS 12z would be far enough. 00z, 06z, 12z, 18z being the model run reference.
