Apple Watch - Windy is showing blank
-
And still buggy, because Windy does not deal with low temps and I want sunrise and sunset, I decided to bring back my other two items and moved wind to the middle …
-
Looking at the details on the watch, it now says I am on 40.620 from Nov 2nd.
Still stuck with the non functional items on the watch and iOS Apple Watch app crashing.
-
And, here we go again ...
This morning, before and after unlocking my watch, phone is right nearby it, has been all night:
-
@ice-rabbit Could you please uninstall Windy and then download the newest version?
-
@Ondřej-Šutera That seems to have helped greatly. I have the 5d back and other things with correct units.
Thank you!Only the radar icon is blank ( totally black ) now.
-
Update: OK again 15 min later
Everything was blank again this am, then five or ten minutes later, it showed data, including the radar icon …. But all in the wrong units again, defaulting to metric.
So looking at the phone it looks like it logged itself off?
Now hoping it will fix itself again because the phone and watch are logged on, sync is on … but no amount of prodding or pulling up data on phone or watch gives me the correct units.
15 mi.n later watch is ok again … gee … still seems buggy though … like it would be better if the watch could operate more independently
-
@ice-rabbit What exactly seems buggy now? I discussed this issue with our developer and there was a certain issue with migration, but it should be solved automatically and it looks like that on your end.
-
I am having the same issue. The correct icon appears in the watch face on the iPhone but is blank on the actual watch
It is an iPhone 12 w/ iOS 17.1.2 and an Apple Watch Series 9 version 10.1.1
I do not know how to check the app version -
I just deleted and reloaded the app and it now seems to be displaying correctly
-
And it is happening again.
04-26 ... my Apple Watch 9 is blank.
-
@ice-rabbit I have this exact same issue - everything updated, all other apps work flawlessly. and I paid for premium!!!!!
-
@Myke-D @ice-rabbit Do you use Beta version WatchOS 10.5 or 10.4?
-
@Suty No beta version here.
The other day ( with the black screen above ) there was a pending windy app update on the phone, even though auto-update of apps on the phone is set to on. Update took care of it.
But it only worked for a couple of days.
My watch has been stuck all week on the same windy multi day forecast now.
Even though it is fine on the phone.
-
@ice-rabbit Okay so the 4-days widget is not updated at all, am I right?
-
@Suty It is not updating.
After whatever however, it did start working again.
For the past 3 days, again it is not updating. We're Tuesday and it still is stuck on last Friday's screen.
iPhone 14 Pro Max and Apple Watch 9, both set to auto-update as needed, software wise, which I think is pretty common. Watch and phone go on the charger at night. Get picked up in the morning, and I pretty much have my phone on wifi most of the day and in my pocket. If not it is on wifi then 2 bars of 5G/LTE. Really nothing particular use wise.
But, something stops communicating somehow for whatever reason and does not retry.
-
@ice-rabbit Hello there, may I ask if the app is normally updated, or if you use widget on the mobile device, are the okay? Please let us know.
-
I checked my phone for pending updates, there was no update waiting for Windy.
I rebooted my Apple Watch, unlocked it, opened up the weather info, radar image etc ... so it gets the current info from the phone OK.
But the center compilation on the watch is still stuck on Friday 4 day.
-
@ice-rabbit I am sorry, bad words. I meant if the app data in Windy.com is updated normally, if the forecast, which is stuck on your Watch, works okay in the app on the mobile device.
-
@Suty Yes, the windy app on the phone works normal, gets the data.
And when I click on anything on the watch, I get the new data
I can click the wind or radar icon, and it will have the same as the phone, pull live radar, etc
Just the center multi day complication remains stuck. -
@ice-rabbit Okay, after a discussion with our iOS developer, we know that widget update is managed by Watch system itself and if the app works okay, then it is difficult to troubleshoot this. Could be possible that you have some batter saving mode turned on?
