Apple Watch - Windy is showing blank

So, I got a new Watch when the 9 was released.
Windy complications showed, except they were in Celsius and other metric units. Phone is set to US units. No amount of fiddling solved it. iCloud on/off.
Today I have been trying to solve this again for over an hour, to no avail, including removing the watch face, adding the watch face back, iCloud on, making sure it is updated, checking the settings on the phone, adding any windy complication to another watch face is blank. Windy complications itself on the windy watch face are blank.
Pretty simple setup.
iPhone 14 up to date.
Apple Watch 9 up to date.
It says Windy app 40.419 updated a few days ago.
Tapping on the blank faces shows the data.

@ice-rabbit Can you share exact versions of WatchOS and iOS?
Also there should be a newer version of Windy for Apple Watch.

40.419 is what it showed, had to look up how to find it in App Store, account, etc -

@Ondřej-Šutera I have updated iOS, restarted things, used windy on the phone, no chance, restarted both, no change …

It looks to be working now - at least partially.
I have removed the watch face again from within the apple watch app, it defaulted back to the nike one, then I added it back from within the windy weather app. So I now have the default view on the watch, and it populates the standard view correctly.
The problem remains in the Apple watch section that I cannot change anything, the windy complications show blank in the list and if I try to change any of them, the Apple watch app instantly crashes when I click: more .

And still buggy, because Windy does not deal with low temps and I want sunrise and sunset, I decided to bring back my other two items and moved wind to the middle …

Looking at the details on the watch, it now says I am on 40.620 from Nov 2nd.
Still stuck with the non functional items on the watch and iOS Apple Watch app crashing.

@Ondřej-Šutera That seems to have helped greatly. I have the 5d back and other things with correct units.

Update: OK again 15 min later
Everything was blank again this am, then five or ten minutes later, it showed data, including the radar icon …. But all in the wrong units again, defaulting to metric.
So looking at the phone it looks like it logged itself off?
Now hoping it will fix itself again because the phone and watch are logged on, sync is on … but no amount of prodding or pulling up data on phone or watch gives me the correct units.
15 mi.n later watch is ok again … gee … still seems buggy though … like it would be better if the watch could operate more independently

@ice-rabbit What exactly seems buggy now? I discussed this issue with our developer and there was a certain issue with migration, but it should be solved automatically and it looks like that on your end.

I am having the same issue. The correct icon appears in the watch face on the iPhone but is blank on the actual watch
It is an iPhone 12 w/ iOS 17.1.2 and an Apple Watch Series 9 version 10.1.1
I do not know how to check the app version

I just deleted and reloaded the app and it now seems to be displaying correctly

The other day ( with the black screen above ) there was a pending windy app update on the phone, even though auto-update of apps on the phone is set to on. Update took care of it.
But it only worked for a couple of days.
My watch has been stuck all week on the same windy multi day forecast now.
Even though it is fine on the phone.
