Colors used on the wind map

I am wondering about the colors that are used on the wind map. I see yellows and whites. I can not find a definition for these colors. Could you explain?

To get full details about the color scale, go to Settings -> Customize color scale -> Select overlay : wind.

If you are not satisfied with the default color scale you can create your own one:
