Hardware for Network Data

Hello everyone,
I have in my mind that some time ago there was some possibility to add a hardware device in order to contribute to the windy data. Is that still available and if “yes”, is there any preferable hardware for this option.
Also, what is the way to connect, is there any guidelines?
