      When we are planning sailing regatta, we sometimes look in 10 day forecasts from ECMWF to get the idea and to better decide on the area we want to sail.

      When I open Windy for specific location, it shows by default 7 day forecast, that can be expanded to 10 day forecast like this:

      Question: why are last three days shown only in 6h intervals?

      When I go to Compare forecasts there is 3h forecast even for last three days for ECMWF (but here I cannot see wind gusts):

      Why is 3h display not possible on the main page (with wind gusts)?

        @Lure
        The ECMWF data are provided
        From 0 to 90 hours by 1 hour steps
        From 93 to 144 hours by 3 hours steps
        From 150 to 240 hours by 6 hours steps

          @idefix37 I understand that, but what is the data shown in Compare forecasts which is in 3h intervals?

              This is very weird ! I can't explain why ECMWF in Compare table shows 3 hours steps up to 10 days instead of 6 hours between 150 to 240 hours.

              Btw I never rely on local wind conditions, averaged wind or gusts, beyond 5 days. Otherwise the is a high risk to be disappointed.

                @idefix37 Yes, I agree that you cannot rely on 10 day forecasts, we only use it to make a decision 7 days to the event to what regatta route we will more likely take. We are more or less just looking for very strong winds/waves and not really depending on details.

                  No comment or explanation for the values displayed every 3 hours for the ECMWF model on the Compare table as mentioned by @Lure.
                  Whereas after 150 hours, this model is supposed to only provide data every 6 hours like the point forecast table do.

                    @idefix37 I discussed this with colleagues and extra values in compare forecast table are interpolated.

                        @idefix37 Thanks for clarification, maybe they should be marked differently in the header to reduce confusion with meteogram (where there is no interpolation)? Or add interpolated values also there to make it consistent?
