      Actually, I want to compare the soil moisture data forecasted by windy with the actual ground stations that we have installed. The data given by actual ground stations is in volumetric content while the soil moisture data given by windy website is in %.
      In order to compare, both should have the same unit type. In this case, how can we convert % data into volumetric content.
      PLEASE HELP! @ADMIN-6ed68549-0f6e-47cb-b47b-472a876e2ae5

        I moved your post to the right category “Drough monitoring”. So there is a chance that the Institute providing the data to Windy can answer directly your question.
        Soil moisture is usually expressed in % water either by weight or by volume.
        The relation between gravimetric and volumetric moisture is
        % moisture by volume = % moisture by weight x bulk density of the soil.
        BTW I doubt you get a good correlation between your station in sloppy mountain at 2300m elevation and an estimation of the soils moisture with a world wide covering.

          I have found this somewhere on the internet. I just want the confirmation from the institute. If there is any relation we can use, then please mention it.
          Thanks for your response.

            @idefix37 It has been 11 days since I posted for queries but still I have not got any response from the institute or the actual answer.
            Please help me to provide the information related to the conversion of soil moisture (%) into volumetric content (cm).

                Converting soil moisture to a percentage quantity allows an accurate assessment of soil water availability. which helps in irrigation planning agricultural practices and environmental monitoring of plant growth for better land management....

                  @tony076
                  In Windy soil moisture is already expressed in %.
                  So there is no need of conversion.
