      Hello,

how it comes that right now in Innsbruck (ICAO: LOWI) the temperature map (ground level) shows - 17 °C and in the metar of the airport (same location) it's - 8°C?

The same is applicable for LOWS (-14 vs. - 8)

METAR displays the reported weather at airport location, while the map shows the prediction of a weather model.
What model have you selected ?
I guess it is the ECMWF which has a medium resolution (9 km).
You can check with Observation vs forecast feature that temperature curve (shaded colour) of the weather station and that of this weather model (dotted curve) show important discrepancy.

In mountain areas it is better to use a high resolution model, for instance ICON D2 with a high resolution (2.2 km). You see that the temperature discrepancy is moderate.
