Other sources are showing very good detail so this must be a rendering issue.</p>

<p dir="auto">OK, I hadn't completely read the post of @downunderdive.  Sorry … my apologies.<br />
Why does the Visible layer have a washed out appearance? Probably because it comes from raw satellite data, without post-processing. Post processing in Windy is carried out on the Blue layer. Other sources with a better rendering in the  visible spectrum are probably doing some post processing on this type of satellite views.</p>

<p dir="auto">So i know that "blue" is showing very good contrast, he knows that "blue" is showing very good contrast and now we all know that you know it too.<br />
But the question was: what is wrong with the "visible" layer.</p>

Try to select “Blue”. This layer shows enhanced contrast.</p>

You find the Satellite images do not show enough contrast? Which setting do you use? Blue, visible or infra+ ?<br />
Here is a screenshot with Blue setting:</p>
