Tide information inaccurate
-
I finding the tide heights and times information to be completely inaccurate, for my local surf report by Windy.com.
Making tides information useless. Other than that keep up the good work.
The Mornington Peninsular tides are taken from the Point Lonsdale tide charts.
See attached for example. -
@MPsurf
Seems Point Lonsdale shown by BoM is inside the bay while you selected a point on the sea side. Am I right? -
@idefix37
Thanks for getting back to me.
Point Lonsdale is at the entry to Port Philip Bay. This image shows location more accurately.
Pretty much the whole of the Mornington Peninsular outside the Port Philip Heads uses these tide predictions.see link -- http://www.bom.gov.au/australia/tides/#!/vic-point-lonsdale

To me it seems not too bad for a worldwide tide forecast model.I am not able to check your first screenshot, I can’t read it.
Additionally you can check the tide forecast at tidal stations (tide gauge).
Select Tides forecast in the list of Points of Information. Here is a screenshot from the mobile app. -
HI idefix37
Sorry for wasting your time. I could of sworn using the Android Mobile App and having the measurements in feet. That the tide readings were inaccurate, even if converting to metric.
Thanks for responding.
