iPhone App keeps login out account
-
Hi @Ondřej-Šutera, I have the same issue as described in this thread. I think that the problem started from the new release of iOS/macOS. I do use the Mac widget as well as iOS widget on iPhone lock screen, Watch and iPad. The problem is that once in a while Windy loses credentials and I have to re-enter user/password on my iPhone. Free space is 150.39GB. Please let me know if there is any other information you could use to reproduce the issue. Thanks!

Hello @alottem, thank you for reporting this. We are currently working to fix it, and our main theory concerns disk space on the iPhone. Can you please tell me which iOS version and Windy version you have? What login option do you use (email, login via Apple, Google, Facebook)? How often does it happen?
This information will really help us to resolve the issue.
-
@alottem One more thing: when this happens, do you see the onboarding screen with the unit's settings?
-
Same here for month now on iPad and iPhone. Free disk 168 Gb of 256 on phone, 98 Gb of 256 on iPad Pro running 17.2.1 but happens already with iOS 16
Logouts are coming random on both devices. Can’t see a time diff or some other indicators. But it is about 3-6 weeks.
I am using the email address to login which is used in my forum profile too.
Currently running windy

Hi @SimonUrbanek, as reported there is plenty of space on my iPhone. iOS version 17.2.1; Windy version 40.1.2. Login through mail. Happens every few weeks.

@SimonUrbanek said in iPhone App keeps login out account:

When it happens the macOS widget shows a Login message instead of widget contents and the iOS app shows that I am not logged in to my account as shown in comment 7 here.

I've been having the same issue every week or so for the past month, but since I updated the app this morning to 40.010234 the widget hasn't been logged in at all.

Hi guys, one more update from my end.. now I'm certain. The issue happens always from Sunday to Monday (CET). This morning again I was logged out. Memory or space is definitely not an issue. I'm certain I have closed all open apps in the evening before going to bed. I'm on iPhone 15Pro 256GB, plenty of space available.
From the 'error console' within the app, the only thing I can't run is the "Test native storage" - nothing happens when I click on the button if that helps.info

Thank you all for the information.
From my observation, this is a system optimization of version 17.2. I'm addressing this as a priority now and preparing a Windy version that will store data in native Apple frameworks, which should resolve this issue. Unfortunately, this is not a simple modification.I would be grateful for any further information.

@SimonUrbanek
I have had the same issue for months…. this is more than an inconvenience…. It prevents important alerts from occurring on my phone when the system automatically logs out. Thank you for you work to resolve asap. -
Same here, on both my iPhone (17.3) and iPad (17.2). The iPhone has 10GB available from 64GB and the iPad 22GB free from 64GB. It happens randomly, the widget is asking for a login. It is the Premium forecast widget.
-
@SimonUrbanek it just happened again after several weeks. I'm sure I caught it within an hour or so after it happened, since I remember that the widget was OK two hours back.
Is it possible to have login credentials saved and retrieved from Apple Passwords? It will make it much easier to recover in case of the credentials loss.
Thank you!

Hi, I would like to inform you that we already released an update of our iOS app (v.41.2.2) that should solve the issue with logging you out. Please update to the latest version and let us know if you have any issue.
-
Hi @Suty, I'd like to update that I was just logged out again, Windy version 41.2.3.
There are multiple error in the Dev console if they can be of any help. Thank you -
@alottem Can you please share them so we can check that?
Also, we checked logs on our end and there is an increase in the last 48 hours, is it possible that you do some changes on your device, or saved lot of data into the device?
-
@Suty nothing special from my end, storage 81GB out of 256GB used.
Please let me know how would you like me to share the logs. -
@alottem I think screenshots would be fine. Thank you.
-
Same issue here, iPhone 13 mini. Every single time I re op the app it has logged me out. Same as my friend who has a brand new iPhone 15. So frustrating when you’ve paid for premium….

Hello @alottem @Conor-Doyle ,
Thank you for reporting.
I have been working on this problem for the past weeks and the latest version should fix this problem.
The problem is that the system greases the local storage, which the application uses to store data. For this reason, we created a backup of this data in the native iOS storage, which should be immune to this behavior. This backup must first be created (the first launch of the new version) and then it is applied when the local storage is lost.
If this behavior is repeated on the latest version, please let me know and I will continue with the solution.
