NO ALERTS EVER
-
After trying many different types of configurations and paying premium for a few years the fact is simply that alerts never ever worked for me, something many users keep telling and nobody seams to listen.
So I am giving up on Windy. It’s a wonderful app but I need weather alerts as I live in the mountains.
If anyone out there could convince me that alerts do work and shows me how I may reconsider
All the best

You sent a similar message 3 years ago but never answered the question:
https://community.windy.com/topic/15305/notifications-not-working?_=1704535891757
So if you never read the answers, how can we help you?
As already explained, if you set several parameters (wind, snow, temperature, etc.) in your Alert, there is almost no chance that you will get a notification because all the conditions must be met at the same time.
But there may also be other possible reasons why you never received a notification …. and workarounds… -

Thank you for replying. The reason I never responded is not because I was ignoring you but because I didn’t know how to do it. Now I have figure it out how to it. I am getting older and I am not very savvy when it comes to using this kinds of chats.Ok then, so if I have understood you well I need to set separate alerts for diferentes conditions as opposed to one alert combining different scenarios. I tried doing this before and I set an alert for very high wind alone but still never worked. In fact I have never received any alerts, either by email or phone, despite I live in mountains with extreme weather sometimes.
My guess is that the issue is something else.
Thank you idefix

@vegagb Hi, we are planning to completely rebuild this alert feature and it should be out soon in version 44. I would recommend waiting for that improvement.

@vegagb
Hi,
To make a test I suggest you set a wind not too strong.
With your first tests did you get notifications on your phone like that?With iOS phone, in your list of Favorite locations the ones with an Alert show a blue bell and a red bar. In the forecast table red bells also appear.
But as @Suty said you can wait for the new Alert system because I guess it will be completely renewed.

@Suty
Thank you so much. It’s really nice to know you are going to work in that. Windy is by far the best, but this feature is not really working properly as it is in other lesser apps.

Thanks for replying so promptly. I will try what you are suggesting, it sounds like a good idea to set a lower wind threshold and try. Thanks also for the explanation about the bells. I never got these notifications on the logo either. Anyhow I am looking forward to the mentioned upgrade. If it works I will certainly go premium again.
