A better way to organize waves

Instead of the arbitrary “wind swell” “waves” “swell 1” perhaps it would be best to organize and filter the waves using the following three criteria, period, size, direction.
Earth.nullschool’s peak wave period is super helpful and really shows the nature of the single swell in a sea of multiple swells. Hoping to seeif windy can do one better of this. But as it stands earth shows swell much better than windy except windy does do the Great Lakes.
